Sound design evaluation

Sound Design Evaluation

I was given the tasks of one filming random clips and improving them using sound we created from scratch I believe we did okay on this task overall we had added a sound to the end where the shot changes every second as does the sound and overall we pulled it off quite nicely, it went really well with the clips we had filmed. Although this was also made in garage band and could have been even better if we had more time to complete the task. Although overall I am happy with our finished version of the task but it could have had a bit more sound in but due to the lack of time this is all we could manage.

Also I had to recreate the opening scene from Batman the dark night using garage band the task was very difficult as I’m not very experienced using garage band and there was a limited amount of clips we were able to select from which made my finished version not very good at all and I’m rather disappointed with it however it would have been difficult for me to have done any better than I had done due to my lack of experience and time I was allocated to complete the task. To improve I would need more time and experience on garage band and I think I could have a better attempt at it.

Detention Prelim Task

This was our 60 second preliminary task. Our task was to create a short horror film that would help us gain more experience and inspiration for our G321 2 minute horror film. this was our first venture into recording and editing a film so this allowed us to get used to the software like final cut and more experience with the camera.

Analysis Of Taken

Analysis of Taken

Taken is an Action Thriller. It was created in 2008 with Liam Neeson playing the main role. In the Scene when Amanda is taken, Bryan is on the phone to Kim. Kim witnesses Amanda been taken using a long shot so you can see both Kim’s Perspective and also a vague figure of the men who are doing the kidnapping. The camera then transitions into a close up shot of Kim’s face to portray the emotions she is going through seeing Amanda, being kidnapped. Also during this scene it cuts to a medium shot of Liam Neeson To also show his reaction and emotion but also enough of the background to show that he is not in the same place and is in a much calmer environment

The next scene I chose is where Kim is hiding under the bed to evade the kidnappers and she is receiving advice from Bryan over the phone. Once again it cuts to Bryan in a close up shot to show how calm and collected he is but then cuts to a medium shot of Kim To establish that she is hiding under the bed but enough of her face to

Numerous times in the short clip it goes in for a close up of Bryan (Liam Neeson) Through the majority of it he seems really calm so he can resolve the situation but there are times during the close up were he show signs of worry especially in his eyes as his daughter has just been kidnapped

Description: Macintosh HD:Users:13140215:Desktop:Screen shot 2013-09-16 at 12.00.49.pngIn another shot Kim is staring out of a window having a conversation on the phone. It uses a medium shot to show her facial expression but enough of the background to get a rough idea of where she is In relation to Amanda who she can see through the window as she is being kidnapped. However prior to this she is having a conversation with Bryan and showing sad emotion as she may not want to be having this conversation.
