Analysis of Taken
Taken is an Action Thriller.
It was created in 2008 with Liam Neeson playing the main role. In the Scene
when Amanda is taken, Bryan is on the phone to Kim. Kim witnesses Amanda been
taken using a long shot so you can see both Kim’s Perspective and also a vague
figure of the men who are doing the kidnapping. The camera then transitions
into a close up shot of Kim’s face to portray the emotions she is going through
seeing Amanda, being kidnapped. Also during this scene it cuts to a medium shot
of Liam Neeson To also show his reaction and emotion but also enough of the
background to show that he is not in the same place and is in a much calmer
environment

The next scene I chose is
where Kim is hiding under the bed to evade the kidnappers and she is receiving
advice from Bryan over the phone. Once again it cuts to Bryan in a close up
shot to show how calm and collected he is but then cuts to a medium shot of Kim
To establish that she is hiding under the bed but enough of her face to
show how
terrified she is, of these men trying to kidnap her.
Numerous times in the short
clip it goes in for a close up of Bryan (Liam Neeson) Through the majority of
it he seems really calm so he can resolve the situation but there are times
during the close up were he show signs of worry especially in his eyes as his
daughter has just been kidnapped
In another
shot Kim is staring out of a window having a conversation on the phone. It uses
a medium shot to show her facial expression but enough of the background to get
a rough idea of where she is In relation to Amanda who she can see through the
window as she is being kidnapped. However prior to this she is having a
conversation with Bryan and showing sad emotion as she may not want to be
having this conversation.
